Their decision was motivated by their family's longstanding connection to the camp and a desire to preserve its legacy. While they jokingly refer to their decision as "losing their minds," their passion for maintaining this special place is evident in every aspect of how they run it today.

The natural setting is perhaps one of the camp's most appealing features. Ramsey Creek runs through the property, offering a tranquil soundtrack to any event. Wildlife abounds, and guests can enjoy fishing in the pond, swimming in the pool, or simply relaxing amidst the sounds of nature. For the more adventurous, a 20-minute hike leads to a waterfall known as Ramsey Falls. Perhaps most notably, there's limited cell phone service at the camp, though Wi-Fi is available. This technological limitation has become an unexpected blessing, encouraging guests to disconnect from their devices and reconnect with each other and with nature.

The Camp at Buffalo Mountain also serves as the home for the Seed Keepers Forest School, an innovative educational program for children. The school operates Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 2 pm, teaching children about the natural world around them. From identifying edible plants like redbud flowers and violets to distinguishing between poisonous and non-poisonous mushrooms, the program immerses children in practical ecological knowledge.
